परिचय

Polyurethane thermoplastics को आमतौर पर thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) कहा जाता है, जो पिघल-प्रसंस्करण योग्य polyurethane elastomers का एक परिवार है जो रबर जैसी लोच को थर्मोप्लास्टिक पुनर्प्रसंस्करण योग्यता के साथ जोड़ता है। वे प्लास्टिक उद्योग में एक महत्वपूर्ण स्थान रखते हैं क्योंकि उन्हें थर्मोप्लास्टिक की तरह ढाला, बाहर निकाला और पुनर्नवीनीकरण किया जा सकता है जबकि अभी भी उच्च घर्षण प्रतिरोध, मजबूती, लचीलापन और अच्छा निम्न-तापमान प्रदर्शन प्रदान करते हैं।

TPU के लिए स्थिरता एक परिभाषित मुद्दा बनी हुई है। सामग्री यांत्रिक रूप से टिकाऊ और सिद्धांत रूप में यांत्रिक पुनर्प्रसंस्करण के माध्यम से पुनर्नवीनीकरण योग्य है, लेकिन यह अभी भी भारी रूप से पेट्रोकेमिकल फीडस्टॉक्स पर निर्भर करती है और कई ग्रेडों में आइसोसाइनेट रसायन विज्ञान पर, संबंधित पर्यावरणीय और व्यावसायिक नियंत्रणों के साथ। वर्तमान नवाचार इसलिए जैव-आधारित पॉलीओल्स, कम-कार्बन उत्पादन मार्गों, पुनर्चक्रण-संगत फॉर्मूलेशन और TPU सिस्टम पर केंद्रित है जो लंबी सेवा जीवन और आसान रिकवरी के लिए डिज़ाइन किए गए हैं।

इतिहास और विकास

पॉलीयूरेथेन पहली बार 1930 के दशक में विकसित किए गए थे, और TPU थर्मोप्लास्टिक विधियों द्वारा संसाधित किए जा सकने वाले सबसे शुरुआती इलास्टोमेरिक polyurethane रूपों में से एक के रूप में उभरा। इसका महत्व बढ़ा जब प्लास्टिक उद्योग ने मांग वाले अनुप्रयोगों में रबर को बदलने वाली सामग्रियों की तलाश की बिना पारंपरिक elastomers के धीमे इलाज चक्रों की आवश्यकता के।

TPU का वाणिज्यिक विस्तार डायइसोसाइनेट रसायन विज्ञान, पॉलीओल चयन और प्रतिक्रियाशील प्रसंस्करण नियंत्रण में सुधारों के बाद हुआ, जिसने कठोरता, लोच और थर्मल व्यवहार को व्यापक रेंज में अनुकूलित करना संभव बनाया। परिणामस्वरूप, TPU एक विशेष इलास्टोमर से एक प्रमुख इंजीनियरिंग सामग्री में विकसित हुआ जो उपभोक्ता वस्तुओं, ऑटोमोटिव, चिकित्सा और औद्योगिक खंडों में उपयोग की जाती है।
