थर्मोप्लास्टिक

परिचय

थर्मोप्लास्टिक्स एक बड़े परिवार के पॉलिमर हैं जो गर्म करने पर नरम हो जाते हैं, नरम अवस्था में आकार दिए जा सकते हैं या वेल्ड किए जा सकते हैं, और ठंडा होने पर बिना महत्वपूर्ण रासायनिक परिवर्तन के फिर से कठोर हो जाते हैं। यह प्रतिवर्तिता आधुनिक प्लास्टिक प्रसंस्करण में उनकी प्रभुत्व का आधार है और उनकी अपेक्षाकृत अनुकूल यांत्रिक पुनर्चक्रणीयता है, जिससे थर्मोप्लास्टिक्स पैकेजिंग, निर्माण, ऑटोमोटिव, इलेक्ट्रिकल, मेडिकल और उपभोक्ता-वस्तु आपूर्ति श्रृंखलाओं में केंद्रीय हैं।

व्यावहारिक औद्योगिक उपयोग में, यह शब्द कमोडिटी रेजिन जैसे पॉलीएथिलीन, पॉलीप्रोपाइलीन, PVC, और PET, तथा उच्च-प्रदर्शन इंजीनियरिंग या स्पेशलिटी थर्मोप्लास्टिक्स जैसे पॉलीकार्बोनेट, पॉलीएमाइड्स, एसीटल, PEEK, और फ्लोरोपॉलीमर्स को कवर करता है। उनकी व्यापक प्रसंस्करण विंडो, एडिटिव्स और फिलर्स के माध्यम से व्यापक फॉर्मूलेशन लचीलेपन के साथ, ने थर्मोप्लास्टिक्स को कई बाजारों में सबसे व्यापक रूप से उपयोग किया जाने वाला प्लास्टिक प्रकार बना दिया है।

थर्मोप्लास्टिक्स का दीर्घकालिक महत्व अब तीन प्रतिस्पर्धी शक्तियों द्वारा आकार ले रहा है: उच्च सामग्री दक्षता और बहुमुखी प्रतिभा, पुनर्चक्रणीयता और परिपत्रता में सुधार के लिए बढ़ता दबाव, और जैव-आधारित, पुनर्चक्रित, और मास-बैलेंस इनपुट जैसे कम-कार्बन फीडस्टॉक की खोज। इसलिए भविष्य का विकास न केवल प्रदर्शन पर बल्कि डिजाइन-फॉर-रीसाइक्लिंग, उन्नत सॉर्टिंग, केमिकल रिसाइक्लिंग, और कम जीवाश्म निर्भरता पर केंद्रित है।
