(PU) पॉलीयूरेथेन

परिचय

पॉलीयूरेथेन (PU, जिसे PUR भी लिखा जाता है) एक बड़ा पॉलिमर परिवार है जो यूरेथेन लिंकेज के आसपास बनाया जाता है और आइसोसाइनेट्स को पॉलीओल्स के साथ प्रतिक्रिया करके उत्पादित किया जाता है, आमतौर पर प्रदर्शन को अनुकूलित करने के लिए उत्प्रेरक और अन्य सहायक सामग्रियों के साथ। यह ऐसी सामग्रियों को शामिल करता है जो नरम elastomers, कठोर संरचनात्मक प्लास्टिक, लचीले और कठोर फोम, coatings, adhesives, सीलेंट, फाइबर और थर्मोप्लास्टिक ग्रेड की तरह व्यवहार करती हैं, जिससे यह प्लास्टिक उद्योग में सबसे अनुकूलनीय कच्चे माल प्रणालियों में से एक बन जाता है।

इसका व्यावसायिक महत्व आणविक डिजाइन पर टिका है: नरम और कठोर खंडों, क्रॉसलिंक घनत्व, chain extenders और फॉर्मूलेशन additives को समायोजित करके, निर्माता कुशनिंग फोम से लोड-बेयरिंग व्हील, इन्सुलेशन बोर्ड, सुरक्षात्मक coatings और चिकित्सा उपकरणों तक जा सकते हैं। PU स्थिरता बहस का भी एक केंद्र बिंदु है क्योंकि पारंपरिक मार्ग भारी रूप से जीवाश्म-व्युत्पन्न फीडस्टॉक और आइसोसाइनेट्स पर निर्भर करते हैं, फिर भी रसायन विज्ञान को तेजी से जलजनित प्रणालियों, कम-VOC फॉर्मूलेशन, पुनर्नवीनीकृत-सामग्री मार्गों और जैव-आधारित पॉलीओल्स की ओर अनुकूलित किया जा रहा है।

इतिहास और विकास

पॉलीयूरेथेन रसायन विज्ञान 1930 के दशक में ओटो बायर और उनके सहयोगियों द्वारा विकसित किया गया था, और द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के बाद फोम, कोटिंग, चिपकने वाले और इलास्टोमर प्रौद्योगिकियों के परिपक्व होने के बाद यह एक व्यापक औद्योगिक मंच में विस्तारित हुआ। समय के साथ, सामग्री वर्ग लचीले फोम, कठोर फोम, कास्ट elastomers, thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) और बायोमेडिकल, ऑटोमोटिव, निर्माण और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स उपयोगों के लिए विशेष प्रणालियों में विविधता प्राप्त की।

इस विकास की एक परिभाषित विशेषता एक एकल निश्चित राल पहचान के बजाय फॉर्मूलेशन लचीलापन रही है। एक ही मुख्य प्रतिक्रिया रसायन विज्ञान को बहुत अलग जरूरतों को हल करने के लिए अनुकूलित किया गया है, भवनों में थर्मल इन्सुलेशन से औद्योगिक घटकों में घर्षण प्रतिरोध और बिस्तर और बैठने में आराम तक।
