परिचय

कोर सामग्री उत्पाद को उसकी प्राथमिक संरचनात्मक, तापीय, चुंबकीय या आयामी प्रदर्शन देने के लिए उपयोग की जाने वाली केंद्रीय, भार वहन करने वाली या कार्यात्मक सामग्री हैं, जो उद्योग संदर्भ पर निर्भर करती हैं। प्लास्टिक और पॉलिमर इंजीनियरिंग में, यह शब्द अक्सर सैंडविच कंपोजिट और इन्सुलेशन संरचनाओं में उपयोग की जाने वाली हल्की कोर मीडिया को संदर्भित करता है, जैसे फोम, हनीकॉम्ब, बाल्सा या फाइबर-आधारित कोर, जो द्रव्यमान को न्यूनतम रखते हुए कठोरता, इन्सुलेशन और ऊर्जा अवशोषण में सुधार करते हैं।

क्योंकि वाक्यांश “कोर सामग्री” कई तकनीकी क्षेत्रों में उपयोग किया जाता है, प्लास्टिक और कंपोजिट अर्थ को चुंबकीय उपकरणों, कास्टिंग, निर्माण या माइक्रोएनकैप्सुलेशन में अन्य उपयोगों से अलग करना महत्वपूर्ण है। कंपोजिट क्षेत्र में, कोर दो मजबूत स्किन के बीच “मध्य परत” होती है और बेंडिंग कठोरता, संपीड़न शक्ति, तापीय इन्सुलेशन, ध्वनिक डैम्पिंग और लागत-से-वजन अनुपात को अनुकूलित करने के लिए चुनी जाती है।

कोर सामग्री पारंपरिक प्राकृतिक कोर जैसे बाल्सा से विकसित होकर इंजीनियर्ड पॉलिमर फोम, संरचनात्मक हनीकॉम्ब, सिंटैक्टिक फोम और हाइब्रिड निर्माण में बदल गई हैं जो एयरोस्पेस, समुद्री, पवन ऊर्जा, परिवहन, प्रशीतन और भवन आवरण के लिए अनुकूलित हैं। वर्तमान विकास तेजी से पुनर्चक्रणीयता, निम्न-कार्बन फीडस्टॉक, अग्नि प्रदर्शन और परिपत्र डिजाइन द्वारा आकार ले रहा है, विशेष रूप से जब कंपोजिट संरचनाएं पवन ब्लेड, मास ट्रांजिट और ऊर्जा-कुशल निर्माण में विस्तार कर रही हैं।

इतिहास और विकास

संरचनात्मक इंजीनियरिंग में प्रारंभिक कोर अवधारणाएं प्राकृतिक, निम्न-घनत्व सामग्री जैसे लकड़ी या सेलुलर निर्माण पर निर्भर थीं, जो कम द्रव्यमान पर अच्छी कठोरता प्रदान करती थीं। जैसे-जैसे कंपोजिट विनिर्माण उन्नत हुआ, विशेष रूप से 20वीं शताब्दी में पॉलिमर लेमिनेट के विकास के बाद, कोर सामग्री अधिक विशिष्ट हो गई और रेजिन प्रणालियों, क्योर चक्रों और प्रदर्शन लक्ष्यों से मेल खाने के लिए इंजीनियर की गई।

एक प्रमुख मील का पत्थर सैंडविच संरचनाओं को व्यापक औद्योगिक अपनाना था, जिसमें पतली, मजबूत स्किन को हल्के कोर द्वारा अलग किया जाता है ताकि वजन में आनुपातिक वृद्धि के बिना बेंडिंग कठोरता बहुत बढ़ जाए। इस डिजाइन सिद्धांत ने हल्के विमान पैनल, नाव हल, टरबाइन ब्लेड, प्रशीतित ट्रक बॉडी और वास्तु पैनल को सक्षम किया।

बाद के विकास ने बंद-सेल पॉलिमर फोम, संरचनात्मक PVC, PET, SAN, PMI और PU फोम, साथ ही पेपर और एरामिड हनीकॉम्ब पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया, क्योंकि इन सामग्रियों को नियंत्रित घनत्व, सेल आकार और यांत्रिक अनिसोट्रॉपी के साथ उत्पादित किया जा सकता था। बाजार तब से उच्च-प्रदर्शन और अधिक टिकाऊ कोर परिवारों में विविधता लाया है, जिसमें recycled PET फोम और जैव-आधारित या निम्न-प्रभाव फॉर्मूलेशन शामिल हैं।
