पॉलीयूरेथेन कास्टिंग रेजिन रिएक्टिव लिक्विड थर्मोसेट हैं जिनका उपयोग विस्तृत भागों, प्रोटोटाइप, मोल्ड, टूलिंग और शॉर्ट-रन एंड-यूज कंपोनेंट्स को बनाने के लिए किया जाता है, जहां दो-घटक प्रणाली को एक सांचे में डाला जाता है, जहां यह ठोस पॉलीयूरेथेन नेटवर्क में ठीक हो जाता है। वे प्लास्टिक मूल्य श्रृंखला में एक विशिष्ट स्थान रखते हैं क्योंकि वे कम-चिपचिपाहट प्रसंस्करण, तेज कमरे के तापमान या गर्म इलाज, और लचीले इलास्टोमर्स से कठोर इंजीनियरिंग-जैसी प्लास्टिक तक व्यापक संपत्ति ट्यूनेबिलिटी को जोड़ते हैं।

इतिहास और विकास
पॉलीयूरेथेन रसायन शास्त्र पॉलीऑल्स और पॉलीआइसोसाइनेट्स में व्यापक पॉलीयूरेथेन अनुसंधान से उभरा, बाद में फोम, कोटिंग्स, चिपकने वाले, इलास्टोमर्स और कास्टेबल थर्मोसेट्स में विस्तारित हुआ। कास्टिंग-विशिष्ट पॉलीयूरेथेन सिस्टम विकसित हुए क्योंकि निर्माताओं ने ऐसी सामग्री की तलाश की जो महीन विवरण को पुन: पेश कर सके, कम संकोचन के साथ ठीक हो सके, और कई पारंपरिक थर्मोसेट्स की तुलना में व्यापक संपत्ति सीमा प्रदान कर सके।
