굽힘, 접힘 및 에지-트리밍 기계는 판재를 정확한 기하학적 형태로 성형하고 마감하는 시스템으로, 일반적으로 직선을 따라 제어된 굽힘과 성형 후 과잉 재료 또는 불규칙한 가장자리를 제거하는 방식으로 사용됩니다. 산업 현장에서는 이 용어가 판금 폴더, 패널 벤더, 에지 성형용 프레스 브레이크, 그리고 금속·플라스틱·성형 섬유 부품 등 다양한 제품을 위한 에지 트리밍 또는 트림 앤 폼 기계 등 여러 관련 기계 군을 포괄합니다.
플라스틱 가공 및 인접 제조 분야에서 이 기계들은 성형된 벽, 접힌 플랜지, 깨끗하게 트리밍된 둘레를 동시에 갖춰야 하는 부품에 특히 중요합니다. 대표적인 예로는 열가소성 수지 인클로저, 성형 트림 부품, 복합 패널, 건축용 클래딩, 포장 도구, 가전 하우징, 산업용 커버 등이 있으며, 에지 품질은 외관과 조립 성능 모두에 영향을 미칩니다. 기술은 수동 폴더와 트리밍 스테이션에서 CNC 제어·자동화 대응 시스템으로 발전했으며, 반복 정밀도를 높이고 핸들링을 줄이며 린 생산을 지원합니다. 현재 혁신은 서보 전동 드라이브, 로봇 로딩, 센서 피드백, 에너지 효율에 집중되어 있습니다.
