परिचय

पर्लेसेंट pigments effect pigments हैं जिन्हें सरल प्रकाश अवशोषण के बजाय प्रकाश प्रतिबिंब और हस्तक्षेप के माध्यम से नरम, चमकदार, मोती जैसी उपस्थिति उत्पन्न करने के लिए इंजीनियर किया गया है। वे प्लास्टिक, coatings, स्याही, कॉस्मेटिक्स और सजावटी सामग्रियों में व्यापक रूप से उपयोग किए जाते हैं क्योंकि वे चमक, गहराई और कोण-निर्भर दृश्य प्रभाव पैदा कर सकते हैं जिन्हें पारंपरिक color pigments पुनरुत्पादित नहीं कर सकते।

पर्लेसेंट उपस्थिति लंबे समय से प्राकृतिक मोतियों, गोले और मछली के तराजू से जुड़ी रही है, लेकिन औद्योगिक पर्लेसेंट pigments इन प्राकृतिक ऑप्टिकल प्रभावों के सिंथेटिक विकल्प के रूप में उभरे। प्रारंभिक उत्पाद प्राकृतिक mica प्लेटलेट्स पर आधारित थे, जिन्हें बाद में पर्ल-जैसी चमक के लिए जिम्मेदार स्तरित हस्तक्षेप को पुनरुत्पादित करने के लिए धातु ऑक्साइड की पतली परतों के साथ लेपित किया गया।
