Urea-formaldehyde (UF) resins are thermosetting amino resins made from urea and formaldehyde. They are low-cost, fast-curing, and widely used as adhesives in wood composite products like particleboard and medium-density fiberboard. UF resins offer good dry bond strength, a colorless glue line, and high surface hardness, but they are sensitive to moisture and can emit formaldehyde. Key applications include interior wood panels, decorative laminates, molded electrical components, and textile finishes.
