溶剤系接着剤

はじめに

溶剤系 接着剤 は、ポリマーまたは樹脂を有機溶剤に溶解し、液体として塗布した後、溶剤が蒸発するにつれて接着を形成する接着システムです。その主な価値は、強力な初期タック、困難な基材への優れた濡れ性、多孔質および非多孔質材料にわたる信頼性の高い接着にあり、輸送、履物、包装、建設、家具、繊維、一般産業組立などで重要となっています。

プラスチックおよび関連材料では、溶剤系 接着剤 は 熱可塑性樹脂、エラストマー、発泡体、コーティング布、積層材、および混合材料アセンブリを接着できるため、純粋に水性またはホットメルトシステムでは接着しにくい材料に対して独特の位置を占めています。この技術は一般に コンタクト接着剤 および溶剤系 ポリウレタン、アクリル、クロロプレン、ゴム、ニトロセルロース配合物に関連付けられ、それぞれ異なる基材組み合わせ、硬化速度、および使用条件に合わせて調整されています。

その産業的重要性は、2つの相反する傾向によって形作られてきました。一方では、溶剤系システムは、特に高速サイクルタイム、高い接着強度、積極的な基材濡れが不可欠な場合に性能面で評価されています。他方では、VOC規制、可燃性懸念、作業者暴露要件、および水性、高固形分、ホットメルト、反応性無溶剤技術などの低排出代替品への移行から、ますます圧力を受けています。

歴史と開発

溶剤系 接着剤 は、天然または合成 ゴム、樹脂、および後に開発されたポリマーを揮発性有機液体に溶解して刷毛塗り、スプレー、またはコーティング可能な 接着剤 を作成する初期の溶剤セメントおよびコンタクト接着剤の慣行から発展しました。ポリマー化学が進歩するにつれ、サプライヤーは産業用接着向けに適応された ポリクロロプレン、SBR、ポリウレタン、アクリル およびその他の樹脂ファミリーを含む化学パレットを拡大しました。

主要な技術的マイルストーンは コンタクト接着剤 の改良で、接着剤を片方または両方の表面に塗布し、溶剤をフラッシュオフさせ、乾燥膜を圧力下で接合して、界面での相互拡散と凝集発達により即時接着形成を生み出すものです。このメカニズムにより、この技術は高速ハンドリング強度が長いオープンタイムよりも重要視される 組立ライン およびラミネーション工程に特に魅力的になりました。

20世紀後半以降、環境政策が配合選択にますます影響を与えました。製造業者は低VOC溶剤システム、優れた溶剤回収、およびハイブリッド配合で対応し、一方で水性 接着剤 などの競合化学物質が改善され、多くの用途で転換可能になりました。それでも、溶剤系 接着剤 は、要求の厳しい表面エネルギー、耐熱性、またはクイックグラブが使用を正当化する用途で根強く残っています。
