はじめに
パイプベリング＆ソケッティングマシンは、熱可塑性パイプの端部を拡大してベル/ソケットを成形する下流工程のプラスチック加工機であり、押し込み式組立、ゴムリングシール、または溶剤セメント接着によりパイプ同士を接合できるようにするものです。主にPVCに使用されますが、PP、PE、CPVC、および特殊構造壁パイプにも適用され、手動式・半自動式から全自動インラインシステムまでさまざまな構成があります。
現代のパイプ押出プラントでは、これらのマシンは切断、ハンドリング、校正、検査システムと密接に統合され、接合の一貫性向上、設置時間の短縮、水道・排水・下水道・コンジット・工業用流体輸送向けの規格対応配管を支えています。その進化は、サイクル高速化、より精密な熱制御、サーボ・空気圧モーションシステム、ガスケット溝・溶剤溶接ソケット・リング保持形状向けのツーリング改善によって形作られてきました。持続可能性の観点からは、エネルギー消費低減、パイプ端部でのスクラップ削減、水効率の良い冷却、繰り返し可能で耐久性のある接合による循環型経済パイプシステムとの適合性が重視されています。
歴史と発展
プラスチックパイプのベリングは、熱可塑性パイプシステムが建築設備、水道配管、下水道などで金属や粘土管に取って代わる中で登場しました。初期のマシンは比較的単純な加熱と手動または空気圧補助成形に依存していましたが、基本プロセスは変わらず、パイプ端を加熱し、マンドレル上で拡張した後、制御された形状で冷却するというものでした。
技術の産業化を定義した実用的なマイルストーンは以下の通りです：
- 熱成形ベースのソケット作成が硬質熱可塑性パイプの主流となり、オーブンやヒーター、成形マンドレル、冷却ステーションを用いて再現性のあるソケットを製造。
- インラインベリングがパイプ押出ラインに直接接続する形で開発され、生産直後に切断されたパイプ長をソケット化し、ハンドリングと保管工程を削減。
- マルチステーションおよびロータリーシステムが加熱・成形・冷却・アンロードをオーバーラップさせることでスループットを向上させ、一部のマシンは1サイクルで複数本をソケット化したり、インデックス付きロータリーレイアウトを採用して高出力を実現。
特許文献にも、マンドレル形状、密閉成形チャンバー、圧縮空気補助、短サイクルタイム制御戦略の漸進的改良が反映されており、単純成形からより厳密に制御された熱成形システムへの着実な移行を示しています。
技術概要
パイプベリングマシンは、熱可塑性パイプに対して制御された端部成形を行います。マシンには通常、パイプ供給・クランプ、加熱、ソケット成形ツーリング、冷却、排出または移送ステーションが含まれます。
動作原理
パイプ端を熱により軟化させて可塑状態にし、成形マンドレルまたはキャビティに対して機械的・空気圧的に拡張します。ソケット形状が達成された後、寸法を安定させ溝形状やベル長を保持するために冷却します。
一般的なプロセス手順は以下の通りです：
- 供給と位置合わせ
- クランプ
- 端部加熱
- マンドレルまたは加圧チャンバーでの成形
- 冷却
- 排出、一部のシステムではマーキングまたは検査
代表的なエンジニアリングパラメータ
- パイプ径範囲： 商用インラインシステムで概ね20 mm〜720 mm、マシンクラスにより異なる。
- サイクルタイム： パイプ径、肉厚、材料、自動化レベルに強く依存し、約15〜180秒/本。
- 出力レート： 公表されているマシン範囲で約20〜400+本/時。
- PVC加熱範囲： ソケット成形では通常120〜140 °C程度、配合と肉厚によりプロセスウィンドウを調整。
- 冷却時間： 水冷によりサイクルタイムを短縮することが多く、一部のPVC用途では冷却ステージ約15〜30秒という公表値あり。
- 遠心脱水後の残留水分： 関連下流工程のパイプおよびリサイクル設備では、遠心脱水により低単一桁の水分レベルに抑えるのが一般的。スプレーまたは循環冷却を使用するソケッティングラインでは、残留水分は固定値ではなくプロセス制御により管理。
- 比エネルギー消費： 径や加熱技術により大きく変動し、実際には成形力ではなく加熱負荷、冷却方式、ステーション数に主に依存。
主なプロセス技術
- ホットプレートまたは加熱マンドレルによる接触加熱
- 赤外線加熱（高速・クリーンな熱伝達）
- 熱風または対流オーブン（広範囲加熱）
- 密閉キャビティ内での圧縮空気成形
- 一部システムでの真空補助成形
- 寸法を素早く固定するための水スプレーまたは内部水循環冷却
