はじめに
ニトリルゴム (NBR) は、ニトリル ブタジエンゴム、Buna-N、またはアクリロニトリル ブタジエンゴム とも呼ばれ、主にアクリロニトリルとブタジエンから作られる合成エラストマーです。石油系媒体に対する強力な耐性と有用な機械的強度、耐摩耗性、比較的低いコストを兼ね備えているため、プラスチックおよびゴムバリューチェーンにおいて最も広く指定される耐油・耐燃料性 ゴム の一つです。
NBR は 1930 年代にドイツで開発され、シール、ホース、ガスケット、その他油、燃料、作動油にさらされる部品の主要な工業材料となりました。その性能はアクリロニトリル含有量によって強く支配されます。高いアクリロニトリルレベルは一般に耐油・耐燃料性を向上させますが、低温での柔軟性を低下させます。一方、低いレベルは柔軟性を向上させますが、油中での膨潤を増加させます。この調整可能性と、硫黄または過酸化物加硫との適合性、広い配合範囲により、NBR は自動車、工業、石油・ガス、医療用手袋用途で主力材料であり続けています。
一方で、NBR には明確な限界があります。オゾン、日光、風化に対する耐性が低い → 不飽和主鎖と反応性二重結合に起因 → 保護 添加剤、表面保護、または屋外暴露向けの EPDM などの代替 エラストマー の選択によって一般的に対処されます。2 つ目の大きな限界は高温耐性の制限 → 不飽和ポリマーネットワークの熱加速劣化に起因 → 過酸化物加硫、熱安定化 添加剤、または過酷な使用での高温 エラストマー への置換によって対処されることが多いです。
今日のプラスチックエコシステムにおいて、NBR は性能と持続可能性のトレードオフの交差点に位置しています。故障が許容されない場面では依然として重要ですが、その将来は低 VOC 配合、ゴム廃棄物の改善されたリサイクル、バイオベースおよび循環型原料戦略、熱・化学・低温バランスの優れた特殊グレードへの gradual な移行によって形作られています。
